BIO

SNORRE ELVIN is a Copenhagen-based dancer and choreographer born in Aarhus, Denmark in 1991. Elvin's artistic work revolves around themes of transformation, tactility, queerness, collectivity, and ecology.


He received an MFA in Choreography from The Danish National School of Performing Arts in 2023 in addition to graduating as a dancer from the same institution in 2015. In 2017, Elvin attended ImPulsTanz in Vienna with a danceWEB scholarship


He is a part of Danseatelier which is a collective consisting of 11 dancers and choreographers sharing a dance studio in Nørrebro, Copenhagen. With Danseatelier he makes performances, organizes and curates performance evenings, residencies and workshops as well staying in a constant research of collective structures. Danseatelier is house artist at Toaster CPH. With danseatelier he has curated performance evenings such as DANSEatelier Performance Feast #1-#6 and presented choreographic work collectively at venues, festivals and art fairs such as Dansehallerne, Det Frie Felts Festival, ICE HOT, Alt_Cph, Copenhagen Contemporary, Den Frie Udstilling and Toaster.


He works in a close collaboration with Nanna Stigsdatter on making riverine dance performances. Together they have been working as house artists at Aaben Dans in Roskilde and been co-produced by Dansehallerne in Copenhagen. They have presented their work at Dansehallerne, Aaben Dans, Hua International, Pollution #3 and Danseatelier amongst other places. 


With Peter Scherrebeck and Katrine Staub he is in an ongoing choreographic and performative research on to make temporary porous nests in which dance can exist. They have presented their work at Det Frie Felts Festival, Lothringer 13 Halle and Lause.


He has presented his own choreographic work at Roskilde Festival, Tanzquatier Wien, Gothenburg Dance and Theatre Festival, Det Frie Felts Festival, Den Frie Udstilling, Danseatelier, The Danish National School of Performing Arts, Ergi.xyz and Juxtapose Art Fair amongst other. 


As a dancer and performer he has been working for artist and choreographers such as Michele Rizzo, Ula Sickle, Pedro Goméz-Egaña, Esben Weile Kjær, Jules Fisher, Daniela Georgieva, Tina Tarpgaard/Recoil Performance Group, Martin Forsberg/Fors Works, Nønne Svalholm/Svalhiolm Dans, Eva Kotátková, Claudia Comte x Kiani Del Valle, Naïma Mazic and Mathias Kryger among others.
